Help Phil & Tasha’s Family: An Urgent Plea for Support

Our Story
Hi everyone, we are Phil and Tasha. We are reaching out to our community for help after a year of relentless challenges that have tested our family to the limit.

To be honest, we really didn't want to go down this route. We have always preferred to be the ones giving help rather than asking for it—Phil works on the front lines as an Emergency Care Assistant (ECA) on the ambulances, and Tasha works in a SEND school. However, we have reached a point where we cannot carry this burden alone.

We are reminded of the verse in Galatians 6:2: "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."

It is in that spirit of community and humility that we are trusting God and our friends to help us through this final, difficult season.

A Year of Strained Health and Finances

The last 12 months have been a "perfect storm." After Tasha lost her original job due to health and lack of support from her employer, just over a year ago, we used our hard-earned savings to bridge the gap. However, the situation has been complicated by significant health struggles for our whole family:

Tasha is battling symptoms of PoTS, a debilitating condition affecting her heart rate and energy. She is still waiting for an official diagnosis, meaning she can currently only work part-time.

Phil has been under immense pressure; the stress has taken such a physical toll that he has passed out twice in the last two years and is currently under medical investigation.

Our 15-year-old daughter is also in a difficult season, currently awaiting a diagnosis for ADHD/PDA, which requires constant advocacy and support.

The Land Rover Ordeal

The "breaking point" happened right at our house as we were setting off for a Christian conference. Our Land Rover suffered a huge electrical fault and the car filled with smoke. We were determined to get to the event, and we are so grateful to a kind neighbour who helped us tow our caravan the rest of the way.

Since then, some dear church friends have supported us financially, for which we are incredibly thankful. This initial support was a lifeline that allowed us to secure a replacement car and get the land rover towed to garage, so that Phil could continue his vital work on the ambulances and we could get our daughter to her appointments while the Land Rover was out of action.

However, the situation worsened. Due to a major cyberattack at Land Rover, parts were unavailable for three months. Now that the parts have finally arrived, we are faced with the actual repair bill for the original vehicle.

While the replacement car has been a lifeline, it is not 100% reliable, and we are constantly worried about it breaking down. For Phil’s ambulance work and our family's medical needs, we desperately need the Land Rover back on the road.

Why We Need Your Help

The final repair bill for the electrical fault has reached £2,500. Having already exhausted our savings and used the initial help we received to stay mobile over the last three months, we simply have nothing left to cover this final cost.
We have tried everything we can to avoid asking for help publicly, but we have reached our limit. Our goal is to raise £2,500 to settle this bill and finally move past this season of hardship.

If we find the funds elsewhere or exceed the target, then we will give any excess to a charity called Acts of Kindness, who support vulnerable individuals & families in and around the Chesterfield area.

How You Can Support Us

We are putting our trust in God’s provision and the kindness of our community to see us through. If you are able to contribute—no matter the amount—it would be an incredible blessing.

If you cannot give, please consider sharing this link or keeping us in your prayers for our family's health and peace.

Thank you for standing with us, for your kindness, and for your prayers.

With love and gratitude,

Phil, Tasha & Family
