Phil is a lifelong friend who has always inspired me with his creativity and resilience. We grew up together, played basketball on our high school team, and I’ve watched him become a talented artist and dedicated teacher. Phil is known for his unique paintings of Arroyo Sharks—beat up old cars abandoned in local arroyos—which reflect his ability to find beauty and meaning in unexpected places.

Recently, Phil faced a major setback when his apartment became infested with bedbugs. Despite the landlord’s attempts to resolve the issue, the infestation persisted, forcing Phil to leave behind all his furniture and clothing to avoid spreading the problem. With a limited income, he’s now spending what little he has on temporary housing while searching for a new place to live. He has already spent close to $1500, with the help of friends, for alternative housing. The loss of his belongings and the added expense of starting over have created a real financial strain.

This fundraiser is to help Phil replace his essential furniture and clothing, and to support him as he gets settled in a new apartment. Every contribution will help Phil rebuild and return to his art and teaching, making a difference in his life during this difficult time.
