Help Phil Continue His Fight Against Multiple Myeloma

My name is Yasemin Jamison, and I've had the privilege of calling Phil Ateto my friend for many years. I'm organizing this fundraiser because Phil needs our help now more than ever.

If you know Phil Ateto, you know he has always been the one showing up for others. As an activist, a friend, and a compassionate soul, he has spent so much of his life fighting for his community and lifting up the people around him.

For the past several years, Phil has been courageously battling multiple myeloma, a rare and aggressive blood cancer. He has endured treatment after treatment, setback after setback, with incredible strength and determination. There were times when we truly didn't think he would still be with us today but Phil has continued to defy the odds.

Now, however, Phil has reached a difficult point in his journey. After years of fighting, he is nearing the end of conventional treatment options. He and his loved ones are now focusing on supportive and alternative therapies that help him feel his best, improve his quality of life, and give him every possible chance to keep fighting.

Unfortunately, many of these alternative and supportive therapies, along with the additional care that comes with living with advanced cancer, are not covered by insurance. The ongoing costs of wellness treatments, nutritional support, supplements, and other out-of-pocket care needs have placed a significant financial burden on Phil and his family.

This fundraiser is being created to help Phil and his loved ones with whatever they need most during this next chapter, including:

• Alternative and supportive therapies not covered by insurance

• Nutritional supplements and wellness expenses

• Medical and personal care costs not covered by insurance

• Transportation to appointments and treatments

• Household and day-to-day living expenses, allowing Phil to focus on healing rather than financial stress

Our goal isn't to raise money for just one treatment or one bill. Our goal is to give Phil and his family one less thing to worry about and the freedom to pursue the therapies and support that are bringing him comfort and hope.
