Help Phil Care for His Feline Friends
Donation protected
Phil is an 82-year-old disabled veteran who has been feeding and caring for the stray cats in his neighborhood for the last 30 years. He provides shelter, feeds them, has them spayed and neutered, and arranges other vet treatment as needed. Phil spends much of his time socializing the cats and kittens so that they might be adopted.
The local stray cat population is not decreasing, but Phil's funds have been limited since he retired. The cat expenses now exceed what he brings in each month, and he has begun to draw from his dwindling savings. We can't stand by and watch this happen without trying to help, so we are reaching out to you. He needs your help to keep up with the costs of feeding the cats and kittens, and taking care of their health needs, as well as his own health and well-being.
Please help Phil continue to care for these community stray cats. He's been taking care of animals all his life wherever he's been - cats, dogs, horses, etc. Now, he is mostly caring for these beautiful cats, who need more help than he can manage on his small fixed income. Spaying and neutering are especially important, as it will help control the number of cats in the neighborhood.
This is how the funds raised will be used: $1800 a month for feeding the cats, $400 for litter and other supplies, vet visits are $60-$80 per visit plus whatever medications are needed, and spay/neuter is $7.50 each.
The pictures show a few of the cats Phil is caring for now. One picture is of Captain Phil holding his cat Tug on his tugboat in 1989. Tug lived on the water with Phil for over 10 years.
Thank you for any help you can give. Please share!
