My name is Phetsamone Souksamly, and I am reaching out for help after the devastating March 2026 Kona Low Storm turned my life upside down. I have always worked hard on my farmland in Waialua, but the storm destroyed everything I rely on. My crops are gone, both of my cars were flooded and are now unusable, and my tractor is broken beyond repair. I have no insurance to cover these losses.
I also rent a house at Otake camp, which is my primary residence. The storm was so severe that all the houses to the left of mine floated away. In the aftermath, I have opened my doors to neighbors who lost their homes, offering them shelter while I stay in a container on my farmland. All of our generators are broken, and my two acres of farmland are now empty, leaving me without my only source of income.
The funds raised will go directly toward immediate and urgent needs to help us get back on our feet. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference in our recovery. Thank you so very much for coming to help and helping me get through these tough times. Your big heart and generosity mean the world to me.
