My name is Phaedra, and I’m humbly asking for help during the hardest chapter of my life. On July 18, 2025, my dog woke me up in the morning to find my house was on fire. I was trapped in my bedroom at the back of the house with no access to any doors. My only choice was to jump out the window, a drop of more than six feet. I managed to get one of my dogs out with me, but my other dog hid in fear, and I couldn’t get back inside. The front of the house was already filled with smoke and flames. I lost four of my beloved pets that morning — two beautiful birds and two wonderful bunnies. The fire department was able to rescue my dog, and we rushed her to the vet. By some miracle, she made a full physical recovery.

This home meant everything to me. My father wanted me to have security before he passed away, and my mother lived with me until shortly before she passed as well. Years ago, I nearly lost this same home in a wildfire. It was the last piece of both of them that I had left. Today, I’m working three jobs, seven days a week, just to stay afloat. Right now, my two dogs and I are living in a 27 foot camper trailer. I’m doing everything I can, but I can’t rebuild alone.

I’m asking for help to raise a down payment for a new two bedroom mobile home so my dogs and I can have a safe place to live again. Any amount truly helps.
