My dog Petrie is 14 years old, and I adopted her from the Oregon Humane Society about four years ago. When she first arrived at the shelter, she had been neglected by her previous owners and looked scrawny and scared. The moment I saw her, I fell in love, and she bonded with me almost instantly. Since then, we've been together, and she's become a cherished part of my life.

Recently, Petrie was hospitalized and has been in the hospital for four days. It's been incredibly difficult to see her in this condition, and I am doing everything I can to make sure she gets the care she needs.
