Petey’s Achilles’ tendon repair

Petey is my partner and I’s first pet, and we are raising money to heal his first boo boo. In an unfortunate cat attack recently, most of Petey’s Achilles’ tendon was ruptured. As a result, we have been faced with the decision to either attempt to repair the tendon through surgery or have Petey use a supportive splint for the rest of his life.
While it does come with its risks, we have decided on the surgery. Not attempting to fix the injury could diminish Petey’s quality of life overtime causing him pain and medical problems for the rest of his life. As a small dog, Petey has about 10 more years ahead of him and we want him to be able to make the most of these years.
It’s estimated that between the cost of the surgery, follow ups, and supplies we would need to buy to keep him safe in recovery the entire thing would be a little over $5000. Petey is scheduled for surgery on next Friday August 2nd. We are planning to put the procedure on a Care Credit card in order to have it done as soon as possible.
Those of you that know us know that we are getting married at the end of August of this year. So understandably so, this is already a stressful time mentally, emotionally, and financially. We are sincerely ready to drop everything and make sure our Petey boy gets better, but we are going to need help to continue to keep ourselves together and give him the care he needs. Unfortunately we are not prepared for this kind of financial burden and find ourselves distraught in starting our lives together this way.
We are reaching out to family, friends, and our community on the internet to ask for any help that you might be able to offer. If you are not able to help, we sincerely understand. This is here for those that are able to give and would like to put a few dollars in to help Petey (and his parents) feel better.
