Strike Fund - Help Pete's Workers Pay Rent

Hello folks!

My name is Emily and I work at Pete's Frootique and Fine Foods, owned by Sobeys.

We're on strike for higher wages and paid sick days. We've been on strike since mid-November. Irrespective of what position we work in in our store and how long we have worked here, we all make minimum wage. Over a year and a half after having our union vote, weeks of striking, and over 6 months of bargaining, the best offer we have received from our employer would have 50% of workers receiving a $0.05/hour wage increase. Over 70% of workers would receive a wage increase of $0.20/hour or less. We are looking for modest wage increases, but nickels and dimes won't cut it.

We are living paycheque to paycheque, and our employer has cut our health insurance. We are hoping you can help us by contributing to a strike fund to ensure we can cover our basic necessities, like rent, food and medication while we fight for higher wages.

We don't want working people to continue to be priced out of our cities. It's time to put an end to corporate greed!
