Thank you for reaching out asking how you can help during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for the Gianusso children.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Michael Gianusso, age 52, in the early hours of Saturday, May 24th, after a courageous 17-month battle with cancer. A loving husband, father, brother, and friend, Peter’s warmth, dedication, and vibrant spirit touched everyone he knew. His infectious laughter, big heart, and unwavering support will be profoundly missed.

Peter was a devoted husband to Bethany (Wilber) Gianusso for 25 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, adventures, and countless memories. He was a proud father to Isabella (22), Luca (20), Serafina (17), and Tomasso (15). His love for his family was the foundation of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them—whether on a baseball field, in the car trying to do the latest TikTok trend, or simply sharing a quiet evening at home.

Few things made Peter happier than being on a field with his kids. From coaching soccer, basketball, softball, and baseball for both his girls and his boys, he poured his energy into helping his children develop their love of sports and teamwork. Peter believed strongly in the power of coaching—not just to teach skills, but to shape character, instill values, and build confidence. Coaching was more than a hobby; it was a calling. He loved sharing his knowledge, encouraging young athletes, and, most importantly, making a positive impact in their lives. His motto was, “I loved watching you play today,” and his passion for the game was contagious. A devoted sports enthusiast and a die-hard Red Sox fan, Peter rarely missed an opening day at Fenway with his boys. But his nurturing spirit didn’t stop at sports; he was a girl Dad through and through. There wasn’t a mall or Sephora he hadn’t explored, and he loved spending the day shopping with his girls.

Peter’s generous nature and sense of humor touched everyone he met. To know Peter was to love Peter. He loved his children’s friends like they were his own, always proud of their achievements and genuinely excited to see what the future held for each of them.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary June, and his father, Robert Gianusso. He leaves behind his beloved wife Bethany, his children Isabella, Luca, Serafina, and Tomasso; his sister Elizabeth (Greg) Wigginton; his niece and nephew, Riley and Aidan; his beloved Auntie Joanne Warren; a cousin, Kate (Patrick) Tigue, and their daughter Phoebe.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made for the Gianusso children.

Peter’s kindness, enthusiasm, and love will be forever remembered in our hearts. He believed in the importance of kindness, integrity, and making a difference through everyday acts of love. He leaves behind an enduring legacy of unwavering love for family.
