Hello, John Frink here. Many of you know me and I'm sure there are many that don't. For those that do know me, you will know that asking for help is extremely difficult for me. I lead a very private life and keep my problems very close to the chest.

My oldest brother Peter is dying. About 4 months ago, Peter fell walking into town. He was transported to Springfield Hospital where he was diagnosed with a bad UTI. Because the hospital had no beds, he was transferred to Bennington where he spent a couple of days. I drove to Bennington to pick him up and when I saw him, I knew immediately that something was not right. He was displaying warning signs of a stroke. The doctor assured me that they checked and he did not have a stroke, so home we came. The next couple of weeks were interesting to say the least. Peter could barely talk and seemed to be very disoriented, calling family members names that were not correct, days wrong, etc. Peter ended back up in Springfield Hospital a couple of weeks later and that is where he has been ever since. It turns out that initially he did have a stroke but it took a deeper brain scan to diagnose it. Since then, he has had multiple strokes that have affected his ability to basically do anything: personal care, talking, and most importantly, swallowing. I got the call this morning from the hospital that they don't think he will make it 24 hours and he has been made comfortable until the end.

That being said, why am I asking for help? As most of you know, both my brothers are mentally challenged and have been their entire life. They never really worked and they never planned for the future. When my mother died at 92 a few years ago, I stepped in to help them do the things that they don't know how to do. Fortunately, the bank that holds my mother's mortgage let them live there, together, as they worked to pay the mortgage off. There is 1 payment left and it is paid off.

This situation has cost A LOT of money. The last few months that Peter has been in the hospital, he has been coded as self-pay because his basic NH health insurance stopped paying. Then there is the issue that there is no money to have him properly buried. Lastly, there is the issue that I don't know if Mark can afford to live in my mother's old place on what he is receiving each month.

So I am asking if at all possible for donations to Peter's burial, Peter's hospital bill, and some to assist Mark some in the future.

Thank you and God bless you all.
