Hi there friends! I’m Gina, and I have the honor and pleasure of being a teammate and friend of an amazing man named Peter Pond.
Though Peter hasn’t been in my life long, he has made a lasting impact on not only myself, but of those of our fellow teammates, and countless others in our tight knit Kickball Communities in Pawtucket RI, Worcester MA, and newly added South Shore MA. We kickballers are attempting to raise some funds for our fellow athlete/friend!
You may have heard of the kickballing legend, Peter. Peter is a member of PFK (RI) and FAKU (Worcester). While not on the field, Pete works as a math teacher at a local middle school. It is clear that he loves his kickballing community and his students.
Unfortunately, on Friday (9/5) Peter suffered from a freak accident. While using his magnificent speed and dodging a ball (quite literally being Peter Pan and flying in the air) Peter landed on third base. Much to our dismay, Peter landed HARD. Immediately he was surrounded by kind kickballers and friends to try and provide assistance until the ambulance arrived.
Peter suffered from a compound fracture of his left ankle. He has already undergone surgery, and has begun his recovery arc. With impending costs for surgery, being away from his work as a teacher, and an ambulance ride, we want to make sure he has nothing to worry about. That his Kickball family will be here to support him, near and far. Peter is someone who thinks about everybody else before himself and it’s time that we show him that same respect. Let’s give him some peace of mind as he focuses on recovery.
Please donate anything that you can to help get him back on his feet…literally and figuratively.
