Help Peter Pay His Medical Bill
My friend AGWU PETER OKEREKE really needs your help! He has finally agreed to let me ask for help on his behalf.
Peter originally came to Canada on a school visa to attend Centennial College in Toronto. By the time his visa was finished he had decided he wanted to stay in Canada. Peter just received his permanent residency in February 2019. He was given his SIN number and was so happy to be able to get a job and start his life in Canada.
Unfortunately, on April 27, 2019 he was rushed by ambulance to Brampton Civic Hospital with what they eventually found out was a bleeding ulcer. He was released from the hospital on May 1, 2019 and given an $9565.00 hospital bill. Since there was a 3-month waiting period, his OHIP did not come into affect until June 9, 2019 and he had no insurance. On May 8th, 2019 he had to return to the hospital emergency for follow up blood-work and was charged another $1000.00. Of course, the hospital wants their money right away and with no other help available to him,I decided to do this fund-raiser for him.
I know Peter personally and he is an honest, caring, kind young man who will be a valuable contributor to Canadian society. He is still experiencing weakness from his illness but is trying to work and this hospital bill is a big burden hanging over his head right now as he starts his new life in Canada, and he has no way to pay it!
Any donations to help Peter pay this medical bill would be greatly appreciated!!! He really needs a HAND UP!! Please help this young man get back on his feet again!
