Help Peter Overcome Cancer Treatment Debt

On September 9, 2022, Peter was rushed to ER because he had a seizure while cleaning the mats after his weekly sparring session at Citadel Martial Arts. Since the seizures didn't stop, he was put into an induced coma for a few days and had to stay hospital-bound for a full week while doctors were diagnosing Peter's condition. It was discovered that Peter had a Stage 3 Astrocytoma and needed brain surgery immediately to remove as much of the tumor as possible. The surgery was performed on September 26 and was a success, except for finding an infiltrating glioma. He needed to undergo daily radiation treatment for 6 weeks followed by monthly chemotherapy for 1 year to ensure full cancer clearance. While troubleshooting which anti-seizure medication brand and what dosage is best, Peter did unfortunately have 2 seizures. One was in August 2023 and the last was in January 2024. He's been on maximum dosage for Vimpat since and has thankfully not had another seizure! In March of 2024, Peter was declared officially cancer-free and is now in "surveillance" where he has to have an MRI every 4-8 months to make sure no new tumor growth has formed.
Because Peter and his fiancée, Jade, were too focused on making it through treatment safely and getting Peter recovered as close to 100% as possible, they overlooked the final medical costs. Jade was able to use her savings to help cover most living and day-to-day fees while Peter focused on chipping away at his medical bills. Their debt quickly piled on because of this. Now that the majority of the doctor's visits are over they're able to shift their focus away from being in constant survival-mode, keeping up with all of the appointments and oral chemotherapy care together at home. Peter (now 33 years old) and Jade (30 years old), were stunned to have their lives interrupted for such an unexpected medical condition at this age so soon after they had just shared dreams of getting married, starting a family, and buying a house. Things have been slowly getting relatively better for them now as they're no longer on pause, but they're still struggling to get back on their feet at the same pace they were living previously. Peter was eager to start fight camp for an upcoming Cage Titan's event when the initial seizure happened in 2022, now its undetermined if it is safe for him to ever fight again or if its best for him to retire his fighting dream and focus on teaching instead. They're trying their best to not be weighed down too much by the physical, mental, and financial toll this has taken on their lives and wish they found the time to start this GoFundMe in the beginning.
