A Ukrainian Families New Beginning
Donation protected
Hello, I am Todd Rehnquist. My inlaws, Peter, his wife Nadia, Anna, their 38-year-old daughter, and her two young daughters, left Mykolaiv, Ukraine, in a panic as the heavy bombing started on 3/12/22 in their city, the day of their departure. Like many other Ukrainians, they've been living underground in a dirt hole, an outdoor cellar in their backyard with a cover over it since the beginning when the bombing started weeks ago. They have left behind their auto and home as a friend of Anna's husband drove them to a location where they could get on a train, as he is trying to save as many as possible since he cannot save his own family, with the hope that they'd make it to Poland. One suitcase was all they were allowed, with most of their possessions left behind. Your whole life in a small bag, never to look back as they go, everything they've ever known... gone, forced to start over somewhere unknown. The anxiety is at a level never experienced before. It will be a new place for all of them except for Anna's husband. Her husband is in the Ukraine armed forces and has to stay behind to defend his country; she might never see him again. A most difficult choice to leave for her and the children. I can't even imagine. I hope to raise funds for them and, with hope, make their assimilation into a new life somewhere a little less complicated, having left everything they know behind. The money raised will be used for temporary housing, an immigration attorney/refugee/asylum relocation, food and medical needs, clothes, etc... If you are able, I am appealing to those who can help - Please help us help them. God's blessing on you all, and thank you so very much.
