Help Peter get to the Olympics
Going to the Olympics has been a dream and a goal of mine for as long as I can remember, I was born and raised in Zimbabwe so having the opportunity to compete for my nation at the highest level is a great honor. Before the games were postponed I qualified for the single and recently I won our final selection trials, securing my spot for Olympics in Japan at the end of July.
Over the past few years I have been blown away by the kindness of people, letting me live with them for months at a time whilst on training camp, the selflessness of coaches who have gone out of their way to help me at their own personal expense.
Thanks to ZOC I have an Olympic Solidarity scholarship (£560 a month) that helps with some of my training expenses each month, which I am exceedingly grateful for however, for the bulk of the cost I am self-funded.
I've put everything I have into making it this far and would much rather just share the highlights with you all but the truth is that I could really use your help on this final leg of the journey.
There will likely only be a handful of athletes representing Zimbabwe at the games and I will be the only rower so I should be easy to spot :)
