Help Peter Get Stem Cell Therapy
Donation protected
My name is Peter Winthrop and I am 57. I’ve been married for 20 years, have a beautiful 14-year-old daughter and two rescue Aussies. Three years ago I had a massive stroke and almost died. This left me paralyzed on my left side. I need assistance putting on clothes, showering, walking and going to the bathroom. I can no longer drive. Before the stroke I was an industrious, productive citizen and working man. This all changed with the stroke. I can no longer support my family and even simple, small tasks are virtually impossible. Because I am on Medicare, I have someone who takes me to therapy just to get my limbs moving. My physical therapist is a doctor who happens to have a doctorate in stroke recovery. He strongly recommends a new treatment called stem therapy in which my own stem cells would be inserted into my brain at the site of the stroke. Research shows that 60 to 70 percent of people who have had this show improvement in movement. Medicare does not cover the cost of anything related to stem cell therapy. I would be overjoyed and grateful to be able to walk at my daughter’s graduation, as this has really affected her young life also.
