Help Peter Fight Pancreatic Cancer
Donation protected
Just after the new year, my dad, Peter, was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer. Coming off of a false negative biopsy, you can say the feeling of having a carpet pulled out from under you is an understatement. Pancreatic cancer is an unforgiving, aggressive cancer that requires quick, intensive medical treatment. With help from Boston and Hartford, my dad will undergo 4 months of chemotherapy locally in Connecticut and then move to daily radiation up in Boston for 5 weeks. This requires my parents to find housing in Boston during that time. We are praying that then, he will be eligible for surgery to remove his tumor and grant him more time.
We are looking at an upwards cost starting at around $70,000 to aid him in this fight. We are asking for any support you are able to give. It doesn’t matter how big or how little. Any amount helps. We believe in the power of hope, prayer and positivity and will take those in stride as we together battle this cancer, because nobody fights alone.
Many know him as ‘Pete’ but to me, he is ‘Dad.’ He’s a dedicated Kenny Chesney fan, travel enthusiast and just recently a retired American Airlines captain of 34 years. More importantly, he is selfless, he is kind, he is driven and he is incredibly stubborn. He’s a husband, father, ‘Poppi’ to 4 grandchildren and still ‘Captain Pete.’ His family, coworkers and friends have always come first. He would be the last person to set this up for himself as he is still checking in on others even now. It’s time we return the love, Dad.
I know in my heart, that the support and love that we can provide him during this time will make a great impact in this journey ahead. My dad is a fighter. I know he has the strength to pursue this fight, and he will never give up. We are ready to rally you through this marathon. We love you.
Keep making plans, Dad. Let’s defy the odds.
