My father, Peter Cwalino a kind and loving man, was diagnosed with Stage Two Throat Cancer on 9.7.18 right before his 61st birthday. Overall, healthy as a horse — ate fairly well, worked out, enjoyed each day, and laughed as much as he could — the news was a giant surprise to all of us, family, friends and certainly himself. Three months later, after many long days of being on a liquid diet, sleepless nights, intense pain and discomfort, his chemotherapy and radiation have finally come to an end.
We are so thankful that his doctors were able to catch the cancer quickly ~ was told he is in the top 4% of defeating this cancer. Yet, as you may imagine the weight of intense medical bills is adding stress and negative tension to his life. Because Dad always refuses to ask for help, this is where I, Sasha Cwalino (his daughter), come in to ask for a simple donation to ease his post-cancer financial strain. I want him to focus on leading a healthy road to recovery rather than have to deal with the insurmountable medical bills that are quickly approaching.
As of 12.13.18, the total medical expenses charged are $147,388.45 and his share is $10,653.27 in 2018. As we all know deductions and out of pocket go back to zero in the new year and he still has follow up appointments, CT and PET Scans that are estimated at $5K and more for 2019.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this ~ Appreciate, hug your loved ones and hold them close… because life changes in a moment.
