My brother, Peter John Berberena (46 years old), was recently diagnosed and is being treated for stage 3 colon cancer. On Friday February 8th he went to the ER for severe abdominal pain. After a routine CT Scan he was told he had a "tennis ball' size mass in his colon that had to be removed. He was admitted and operated on the very next day. He remained in the hospital for 2 weeks and has finally been discharged!! Since then he has been home recuperating and is scheduled to begin Chemotherapy every 2 weeks for the next 6 months. He is the husband of Patricia Berberena and the father of Peter Jr, Jaziah and Noriah Berberena. There is no family history of colon cancer on either side of the family at all and yet here we are. Because of these circumstances my brother has not been able to work to support his family and is now facing financial hardship. My brother has been a man of great faith for the past 12 years and has shown a strength beyond understanding throughout this experience. He has invested a lot of his time to help people by being an encouragement to others and uplifting them with his life experiences and testimonies. I can only hope and pray that we can come together as a community and family to help my brother and his family through this difficult time. Please feel free to contact me or my brother for any other details you may need. Thank you all in advance for your support.
