Help Pete Save the Sanctuary Resort
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Tanya Caruso. Pete Horley and I were married at the Sanctuary Resort on August 22nd of this year (2023) in what was a beautiful ceremony. Unfortunately, before we could have a chance to enjoy our married life, Pete's mom Carol passed away suddenly on August 25, 2023.
Everyone who knew Carol, knew how much The Sanctuary Resort/island meant to her. She felt most at peace there and loved being able to share it with the many guests they hosted over the years. Carol has been running the sanctuary resort with Pete's help for the past 20+ years and prior to that Carol and her late husband ran it. The Sanctuary resort has been in their family for many decades. The cabins all built and maintained by the Horley family. It was more than a business for them it was a way of life.
Pete's Grandparents were the first to settle on the island and the family has worked hard to ensure that it was a welcoming and peaceful place for people to visit. The history of this place runs deep. People often say it's like taking a step back to a simpler time in life but it has to be seen to be truly appreciated!
Many guests to the Sanctuary resort have been returning for decades to the island, and this past year was their busiest yet, with many new family groups coming and expressing interest in returning next year. They appreciate the tranquility that the Sanctuary resort provides and that it is a much needed retreat for families looking to escape from the hustle of day to day life.
Pete has lived his entire life dedicated to The Sanctuary resort spending most of the year on the island and the winters at the house on the landing.
As anyone who's ever dealt with the estate of a passed loved one knows, it is challenging at best. This is no exception, and in order for him to be able to keep the Sanctuary resort going he will need to purchase it. The cost of which is beyond his means at this time. Loosing his mom was hard enough but loosing his way of life and the Sanctuary resort with all it's rich history is unbearable.
Those of you who know Pete, know what a hard working person he is and that he spent the last 5 years as his mom's primary caregiver so that she could continue living at the island for as long as possible. Pete is a very community minded person with a big heart.
I am looking to help Pete raise enough money to be able to exercise his right to purchase the properties from his siblings so that he may continue keeping the Sanctuary Resort going and preserving it's rich history for generations to enjoy in the future.
Pete and I would greatly appreciate any donations that you may be able to make to help him save the Sanctuary resort so that he can keep his family's legacy going. We thank you in advance for your support!!
