Hi everyone name is Pete: I’m from Chapel Hill, NC. I created this GoFundme because for thirteen months I have been very sick from mold exposure and long COVID (possibly Lyme disease too but the tests are pending). This disease causes me high levels of inflammation throughout the musculoskeletal system which over time has caused some significant problems.

The source of my illness is a type of mold called Ochratoxin. I am seeking work opportunities that I can tolerate but my pain and disability is such that I resort to total rest. Employment may not be possible right now until healing occurs.

This illness is called Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome and was triggered by a COVID infection in September of 2023. I now have muscular and soft tissue problems. I will undergo various muscle biopsies on 12/9/2024. The procedures are necessary but will likely cause more problems.

My goals at this time are to walk around my block without pain and drive my orange 1990 Mazda again but that is far off right now.

There is a treatment protocol that I’m following which was developed by Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker. However the expensives are astronomical and so far treatment has not gone well

The biggest problem with moving to a less moldy home is that most homes in my area are older and already have water damage and some mold. There is no guarantee that a different home will improve me unless we pay for expensive environmental engineers to first check it for mold spores.

I am kindly asking for donations to help me cover my medical and living expenses. My savings are totally depleted from disability and no government assistance.
