Help Pete get off the street

Hi there my name is Pete and I'm homeless.  This is currently all I own in the world.                                                                                        A series of life events led to this current reality,  beginning with a divorce about 10 years ago.  There simply was not enough money to go around and I was living in my car.  This went on a couple years until I became unemployed.  Eventually money and options ran out leaving me outdoors on the street.  It's been 8 years now.  I've been up and down California, across the country and back, nothing seems to be changing.  My current goal is to try and get a truck or van.  This would provide shelter, a place to store belongings and tools for work.  I realize $5000 is kind of lofty.  In reality for between $1000 and $5000 I could find something in various degrees of condition.  I really don't enjoy doing this but it's been 8 years now and I'm not getting any younger.  Anything would help.  Thanks for reading have great day!
