Help Pete Fisher after a fire
Donation protected
On 02/14/2022, Peter Fisher lost everything he owns to a multi structure, 3 alarm fire on Main Street in Ringtown, PA, along with Rentschler’s losing both their businesses and buildings and an additional vacant home was lost where the fire started. Sadly, this is the second fire that Pete has endured as he lost his home to a fire on 03/02/2018, when he lived directly across the street. The Red Cross assisted immediately with a warm place for Pete to spend the night, but he literally lost everything aside from the clothes on his back.
Luckily, both his cats made it through the fire in 2018. However, his one cat was not as lucky this time. She was in the fire for 6 hours before being found under roofing material and debris. When the fireman handed her to Pete she had burns on her paws and the side of her face, was soaking wet and frozen solid. He immediately took her to the Ringtown Valley Veterinary Hospital where she was treated. At first her body temperature wouldn’t register, then they got her temperature to 85 degrees. She fought hard over night and the next morning has a body temperature of 98 degrees. She has suffered serious smoke inhalation and not out of the woods yet.
To know Pete is to love him. I too lost my home in 2018 in that fire and went through it every step of the way with Pete. I cannot imagine suffering the same loss 4 years later, losing everything he just rebuilt. We are blessed to live in Ringtown, in such a loving, caring community. The outpouring of kindness and generosity shown by family, friends and even strangers was unexpected, overwhelmingly beautiful and appreciated more than words can say. Pete has a long road ahead of him rebuilding again and extra veterinary expenses as well. If you can find it in your heart to assist him in anyway, your kindness and generosity would be appreciated. Thank you.
