Hey everyone, I am fundraising for our beloved dog, Pete. He has an obstruction in his bowel which has made him incredibly sick over the last 48 hours. And according to the doc it could be life threatening if left untreated. It’s developing really quickly, but we already have him hospitalized to receive treatment. There is a big chance that he has to have surgery in the next couple days. The cost for it is huge and that we don’t know how we can cover it without help. If Pete, my wonderful wife Erin, or I have made an impact on you over the years, we’d greatly appreciate any help supporting our boy.
All money raised will go towards Pete’s vet bills, whether or not he needs surgery.
Update 12/11/23 8:00am- Unfortunately Pete does officially need surgery, they will be doing it later today.
Update 12/11/23 11:30am- Surgery was successful! Pete is awake and seems to be doing ok. The blockage in his GI tract was removed and the doctors plan to keep him overnight and try to reintroduce food to him.
Thank you all so much for your ongoing support for Pete and our little family, your gifts, words and prayers have raised our spirits and overwhelmed us with love.
Update 12/11/23 7:00pm- We got to visit our sweet boy at the hospital tonight! He is still quite groggy from surgery but the staff said it went smoothly and that he’s been a perfect patient (very on brand). If all goes well, we’ll be able to bring him home as early as tomorrow morning! We are so blown away by all of the love and support we’ve received this weekend—Pete is the best boy and we’re so glad he’s touched so many of you!
Update 12/13/23 10:00am- We’re home!!! We went in to visit this morning knowing that Pete hadn’t eaten all night, so the vet wasn’t quite ready to release him. Then they brought us some chicken which Pete ate faster than I’ve ever seen him eat anything, and the team knew that meant he was just ready to be home with us. Alec and I are so grateful to the team at Carolina Veterinary Specialists and to each one of you who gave, prayed, or checked in—all three of us are feeling so loved!
