Hi, my name is Melissa Massari, I am Pete’s daughter. For all that know and love my Dad you know he has a huge heart and will help anyone in need. Since the age of 16, he has been helping others in the community as a volunteer fireman. About 3 weeks ago our lives were forever changed, we were told Dad had a stroke, and after being misdiagnosed and transferred twice, we are yet again facing another transfer.  On top off all of this, he has lost the ability to work and support his family. With each passing day medical bills are mounting. Even retired , he was working 13 hour days driving medical transportation. To add to all this , he fell in the hospital on Friday 10/4 and had to have emergency surgery on his foot. Our hope is that he will be able to come home soon. But he will need many months to recover to get him strong enough to bring home and be with our family. He also has to re-learn many daily living skills.  If and when he comes home we also need to make some modifications at home to get ready.  Honestly we hope that everyone that loves, knows and supports us and Dad could donate so that we can afford the care that he needs in the months to come. We appreciate and love all of you and are grateful for all the messages kind words and calls. We just want Dad to be himself again. This has been difficult financially and emotionally.
