We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for support for our dear friend Pete, who recently suffered a heartbreaking loss.

On what should have been a joyful celebration of Pete’s 70th birthday, his beautiful little dog Pickles (age 6) was viciously attacked by another dog. Pickles was badly injured and fought bravely for three days, but tragically, she passed away despite emergency veterinary efforts.

Pete is the kindest man you could meet — gentle, soft-spoken, and full of love for animals. Pickles wasn’t just his pet; she was his baby, best friend, and constant companion. Their bond was instant and unbreakable. She was originally meant to live with me and my mum (Pickles is the only pup from our two dogs), but when she met Pete, they chose each other — and she never left his side.

This devastating loss has left Pete with a broken heart and over £3,500 in vet bills. Having been retired due to a knee replacement surgery a few years ago, Pete is now returning to work as a carpenter to try and pay off the unexpected costs — all while grieving the loss of the love of his life.

We are asking for help to lighten the financial burden, so Pete can grieve without the weight of this debt on his shoulders. Your donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and will go directly towards paying the vets bill.
