Hi everyone, it’s Meg from Pet Au Pairs. This August, we’re celebrating five years of caring for the amazing dogs in our community, and honestly… I can’t thank you enough for trusting us with your best friends. Over the last five years, this yard has seen thousands of happy paws. It’s been the place where dogs have made friends, gained confidence, burned off energy, and just gotten to be dogs.
But after five years of heavy use, we’ve realized we made the wrong choice with the turf we originally installed - you don't know what you don't know. It traps dirt and debris deep in the fibers, it’s becoming harder and harder to keep truly clean and sanitary, and during the summer it gets much hotter than we’d like. We want to replace about 2,000 square feet with Natura Turf—a product that’s specifically designed for pet facilities. It drains better, stays cooler, and creates a healthier environment for the dogs. The project is a big investment, and I’m doing everything I can to keep costs down. I’ve already had the yard graded, and I’ll be doing most of the installation myself. The money we’re raising is almost entirely for materials.
People sometimes assume that because we’re busy, we must be making a huge profit. The reality is that running a small business has become incredibly expensive. One thing I’ve always believed in is taking care of the people who take care of your dogs. Paying our team fairly and keeping great employees has always been more important to me than maximizing profit. We’ve also tried very hard not to pass rising costs on to our clients, because I know everyone is feeling the pinch right now. So instead of raising prices, I’m asking our community for help with this one big improvement.
If Pet Au Pairs has ever made a difference in your dog’s life or your family’s life, we’d be incredibly grateful for your support. And if donating isn’t possible, simply sharing this fundraiser would mean so much. Thank you for believing in us these past five years. We can’t wait to give your dogs an even better place to run, play, and make memories for many years to come.
