Help Persephone Overcome Chest Dysphoria

Hi, I'm Persephone Possum! I'm a disabled trans woman, comic book store worker, and independent author living in the Bay Area.

I'm seeking breast augmentation surgery at The Gender Confirmation Center Of San Francisco to deal with my debilitating chest dysphoria. I am currently waiting to hear back if MediCal will cover my surgery, but the wait time for authorization could be six months or more, and I could still get denied. I do not have the time to wait with no certainty of approval, especially given the current state of the federal regime, which could wipe-out my public health insurance or make trans surgeries funded with our tax dollars illegal any day now. I cannot bear this. I need to have a concrete plan.

I am seeking $12,000 dollars to cover the surgery out of pocket, as well as 1-2 months off of work to recover as needed. If insurance ends up covering the surgery, or if I raise more than I need, the money will be used to help cover other living expenses and then redistributed to other girls seeking surgery.
