Help Perry Thomas Wrestle Cancer Into Submission
Donation protected
The goal of this Gofundme is to help with medical expenses directly linked to the turmoil caused by an unexpected tumor in my dad's brain.
Who he is:
Perry Thomas has been a lot of things in his life. A football player in his youth, a baseball player in college, an Electrical Engineer graduate out of UIC, a business owner, a private pilot for the longer half of a decade, but most importantly, he has been the best Dad I could have asked for.
My dad has contributed hundreds of hours of his personal time to attend my high school alumni events and take sports photos solely to make people happy and for the athletes and parents to capture some of the happiest, and sometimes most somber, moments in their lives. He has never asked for monetary compensation for his time spent working on his photography, only that people will share and be happy when looking at them.
The Medical Side:
Over the course of November, my dad's health had significantly declined. It had gotten so bad he could barely function on a day to day basis. It was during the first week of December, I received the worst news of my life through a phone call from my mom who was in the E.R. with my dad. The doctors did an MRI scan of his head and found a large marble sized tumor in his brain.
Further testing showed that there were no more noticeable places in his body with cancer.
Thankfully, the doctors were able to, and wanted to, operate immediately to remove the tumor and start the recovery process.
He returned home on December 12th, More than three days had passed since he was admitted on the 9th. The tumor had been removed successfully, but now the bumpiest part of the road starts. Anybody that has gone through or seen a loved one go through chemotherapy and radiation treatment knows that it does a lot of negative to a body in essentially a "beating fire with fire" kind of way to kill the cancer cells.
Anything anybody is willing to donate to this cause will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support, let’s try to send this cancer into remission.
