In 2017, at the age of 59, our brother Perry was diagnosed with terminal cancer and he has been courageously fighting for his life ever since. When chemotherapy was not successful, he turned to medical cannabis and nutritional supplements to treat his illness. As a self employed carpenter with a small business, Perry's main goal was to be able to continue working and doing what he loves. But as time passed, he was able to work less and less until eventually, he was unable to continue working. Of course, this has put a great financial strain on him and his partner, Patricia, who is retired with a small pension. They had to put a second mortgage on their home and now have to give up their home in Regina and move to a smaller community and rent a home. They cost of his treatment is approximately $150/day.
When a Go Fund Me fundraiser was initially suggested to Perry in early 2018, he was adamant that he did not want to ask others for help. But with time, the situation has gotten increasingly more difficult and he has now agreed to accept donations to help cover his treatment and day to day expenses. His goal now is a very simple one - "to stay around as long as possible and spend time with his family and friends and watch his grandsons play hockey".
Perry and Patricia would like to thank everyone for all of the support they have been given throughout the past year. Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to help, they completely understand.
Please keep Perry in your thoughts and prayers as he courageously continues to fight this battle.
