Perezly & his family
Times are hard this time of year for everyone but for this little 3 year old boy and his family it has been extremely rough. The whole family had been sick with flu like symptoms for a few weeks. His Mommy and Daddy did what all parents do and took time off work and tried to treat it with medicine at home. Perezly seemed better and came down with a second round that was worse than the first round. That’s when this family was split apart as other family stepped in to try and help, his older brother 15 years old went to stay with his Auntie and his 5 year old sister went to stay with her Nana so Mommy and Daddy could be with him as Perezly was taken to Children’s hospital last Thursday night 11/13/2025 with a fever of 103, cough that shook his whole body, baby was miserable and not himself. Doctors worked on him and found Pneumonia had set into his lungs and abscess pockets of fluid on the outside of his left lung. They started him on antibiotics that did not clear up his symptoms as he also had flu symptoms and an ear infection and labored breathing all at once. The ambulance had to take him to the main Children’s hospital on 11/18/2025 for surgery to drain the fluid from around his lungs. The procedure went well but he had a bronchial spasm when the Doctors removed the intubation tube. Perezly required assistance to breathe on his own which sent him to the ICU. High flow oxygen at 8 liters was ordered. He has a drain tube on his left side working to remove the fluid off his lung. He remains in the hospital for an unknown amount of time as he has so many symptoms he is fighting to be rid of. The drain tube will be in place for up to 7 days, slow process to remove it once the fluid is gone as of now it is still draining continuously. The doctors advised he has a spot of necrosis (dying tissue) on his left lung. Antibiotics for the pneumonia is to be administered for at least three weeks. The Doctors will continue to look at his lung to determine if further treatment will be needed. He continues to have a cough and fevers that spike. He is still not acting like himself, not wanting to play or talk very much, as he is so miserable. His family has been apart from each other which is extremely hard on them all and his parents are staying by his side. With everything going on we are asking for any help and support in keeping their home and bills at bay while they are not working to be there at the hospital with him and all the medical bills that are coming their way. Both parents have missed three weeks of work already and no date of when they get to go home and reunite their family. If you have it in your heart to help we would greatly appreciate it and please keep our little boy and his family in your prayers.
