Originally the doctors were set on the fact that he had congestive heart failure. However, after running additional tests, they determined it was much less likely his heart and more likely a non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema (other possibilities are atypical pneumonia, pulmonary thromboembolism, cancer, or other pulmonary pathology). They are unsure why this happened. Though their best guess is that it could have been an electrical shock because he has a habit of chewing on things.

I just picked him up, we are back at the apartment, and he is still wobbly from the gabapentin. But he drank water for 6 minutes straight!!!

All donations will be going to the copay (as my insurance does not cover everything unfortunately), any follow ups needed, and an echocardiogram (which is not covered and something the doctors would still like me to get done) and that is a costly specialized test.

Once again, thank you all so much for the donations. You have made this incredibly stressful and worrisome event easier.

3/3/26: Percy just turned 10 years old and I adopted him from a shelter when I was 19. He was/is the cutest little thing. He’s always been a loving, playful cat who brings so much joy and comfort to my life. Recently, Percy was hospitalized with possible congestive heart failure. It was heartbreaking to see him struggle, and unfortunately his murmur/heart disease is a pre-existing condition and is not converted by insurance. Because of this, the bills are quickly adding up.

Percy is truly my world, and I want to give him the best possible chance at recovery. The funds raised will go directly toward his medical bills, including his hospital stay, treatments, and any ongoing care he may need to manage his condition. Every little bit helps, and your support means so much to both of us. If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, it would make a huge difference.
