Help Percy Fight Rare Heart Disease

My name is Joy, and I’m mom to six amazing rescue cats. On September 5th, I rushed my sweet boy Percy (8 years old) to the ER after he started coughing. We thought it was asthma, but it turned out to be heart failure.

At UC Davis Veterinary Hospital, Percy was diagnosed with rare two-sided heart disease. True to his nature, our boy has always been one of a kind. While his condition can’t be cured, his doctor believes medication and ongoing care can give him more happy, comfortable days. The good news is he’s already responding to the meds; his breathing is easier, the fluid is gone, and he’s stable.

Percy means everything to us. He was by my side through my breast cancer battle, loves nothing more than cuddles, boxes, and birdwatching, and has already beaten the odds recovering from a serious leg injury. He’s a fighter, and I’m determined to fight with him.

He’s the sweetest boy and he instantly charms everyone he meets.

His treatment is lifelong and expensive, and I can’t do it alone. Every dollar raised will go toward Percy’s medications, specialist visits, emergency care so far, and ongoing care.
