Per is my husband, and his loyal German Shepherd, Freyja, has been his constant companion for nearly a decade. After serving in the military and experiencing the hardships of war, Per faced even more challenges—losing both his parents and going through a difficult divorce. Through it all, Freyja has been by his side, offering comfort, stability, and unconditional love. As a service dog, she has helped Per manage his PTSD and stay grounded during stressful times. Their bond is truly special, and Freyja has given Per hope and strength when he needed it most.

Sadly, Freyja has been diagnosed with cancer and is now suffering. She has lost her hearing and many other functions, and it’s clear that she deserves a peaceful and dignified farewell after all she has done for Per. The funds raised will help cover her end-of-life care and cremation, ensuring she can go peacefully and without pain. Any remaining support will go toward helping Per find and train a new service dog, so he can continue to receive the support he needs to cope with trauma and daily challenges.
