Help Pepperoni recover from being hit by a car!

Hi, my name is James, and I'm fundraising for my dog, Pepperoni. Last evening Pepperoni was struck by a car at the intersection in front of our house. I was out with him in our fenced-in front yard when some commotion with another small dog across the street got him all riled up, causing him to wriggle out through the fence and into the road. Thankfully the folks that hit him stopped and drove us to BluePearl pet hospital, where he's been under observation since last night.

 

As of the last update I've received, Pep has 3 bad fractures in his leg and pelvis. He's clearly in a lot of pain and unable to stand or walk. An ultra-sound showed some fluid in his belly, and he's got some blood in his urine, indicating possible liver or spleen damage- as of now, after x-rays and blood work, neither appears to be ruptured at least. The doctors insisted he stay overnight, as he's in a lot of pain and needs to be sedated and monitored until he can be examined further. Peppy is going to need surgery to repair his biggest fracture, which is along a weight bearing part of his pelvis- without surgery he will not be able to walk normally, will have to endure a lot of pain, and will be at high risk for other problems going forward.

 

Unfortunately I can't make that happen without your help! Total, I've had to spend close to $3000 upfront for the exams, x-rays, painkillers, etc. - The doctor roughly estimated surgery would be another $6000 - $8000. I'm still waiting to hear from the surgery center about what exactly needs to happen & how much it will be. I love my little dude & I'll shell out whatever I'm able to if it means he'll be ok- unfortunately this is money I simply don't have- my bank account is near drained after last night, and I can't get my little guy patched up without help. In addition to surgery he's going to need pain killers / sedatives & constant monitoring- he's a rowdy little guy and his movement is going to need to be pretty severely limited for a long time while he recovers. Thankfully I work mostly from home, so I'll be able to hang out with him and keep an eye on him.

Anybody who has ever met Pep knows what a friendly, energetic little guy he is. He is truly the sweetest dog I've ever met, and it's awful to see him in pain like this. Any donations or shares are hugely appreciated, and go a long way towards getting him patched up & comfortable as soon as possible!
