I was not looking to adopt a dog, but when I saw a post from Tuf Luck Farm Supply saying someone had abandoned this pup, something got me really emotional. Maybe it was because I saw my old dog’s eyes in this little guy. I couldn’t stop thinking about him, so I stopped by after work.
Upon meeting this 6-month-old puppy, I learned he was dropped off by an abusive homeless owner, who was threatening to end its life. The poor pup was scared and dirty, shivering on a pallet where he was tied to a shelf. The wonderful lady at the feed store cried when she saw him relax for the first time as I was petting him.
I took him home as a foster, naming him Pepper. With good food and lots of patience and love, he’s already come a long way in just a few days.
…but now I’m attached. (Foster fail!)
Since this was not planned, I have no extra money set aside for the full work up this little guy needs at the vet. I called and they estimated $1,000 for everything he’s needing, considering he was homeless.
If you can make a donation to help me get Pepper’s doc bills covered, I promise to cook him healthy fresh meals, take him on adventures, and give him the confidence to live the life he deserves.
My last big black pit mix was a good boy who led a long happy life, and I was there to hold him until his last breath. He also came to me as a throwaway pup many years ago. I feel like he sent this one.
