For Our Pepper

We are starting this fundraiser for our sweet girl, Pepper, who we just discovered has malignant bone cancer in her leg.

We never imagined that what started as a limp in mid-September, would come to this and now we’re doing everything we can to get her the surgery she needs to keep her comfortable and extend her life.

Pepper is the sweetest, most affectionate dog and has been my first baby. She came into my life shortly after I lost my mom and has been by my side through a divorce, moving to California, countless changes and challenges, and some of the biggest chapters of my life including starting a family.

I’ve never once felt alone as long as Pepper has been around.

When we took her to the vet for the limp, her X-rays showed a mass and significant bone damage.

Further testing and a biopsy confirmed our absolute worst fear: Pepper has malignant cancer in the bone of her front right leg.

The good news is that her chest x-rays showed no visible spread of the cancer. Her vets have recommended amputation as soon as possible to relieve her pain, help extend her life and give her more comfortable time with our family.

The estimated cost of Pepper’s surgery and treatment is approximately $9,200 and we are hoping to raise $8,000.

The funds will help cover her amputation surgery, veterinary and oncology care, medications, follow-up appointments, and recovery.

Our 15-month old son absolutely loves Pepper, and we’d love for her to be here to meet our second son coming in February and be part of our growing family.

If you’re able to donate, every contribution helps us get Pepper closer to the surgery she needs. If you can’t, just sharing Pepper’s story would mean the world to us.

Thank you for caring about our girl and helping us give her the best chance we can.
