Pepe is a feral barn cat who has been visiting me for a long time. While he won’t let me touch him, he’s learned to trust me enough to hang around and come close when I call his name. Recently, Pepe came to dinner with a gunshot wound to his back leg. He now needs immediate veterinary care and a diagnosis to determine if he can be saved or if euthanasia is the most humane option. I’ve been struggling with this decision for days, but I want to give Pepe every possible chance at life.

The funds raised will go directly toward Pepe’s emergency vet visits, diagnosis, surgery, medication, and any ongoing care he may need. Today, I was able to obtain a drop trap from a local rescue so I can safely catch him and get his wounds assessed. Earlier this year, one of my own pet cats was also shot by the same neighbors and needed an amputation. Thanks to the generosity of donors, his life was saved and he’s now living safely inside.
