Help People’s Farm Replace Greenhouse Destroyed by Storm
Donation protected
Dear friends and neighbors,
During the wind storm & tornado in Ligonier on Sunday, March 16 one of our farm’s 100’ greenhouses was unfortunately destroyed. The metal frame was mangled and is unfixable, and the plastic covering was torn off. We’re humbly asking our community for help in funding a replacement.
Our small farm (People’s Farm) operates on very thin profit margins, and this loss of critical infrastructure is a major setback that we will not be able to replace anytime soon without help.
The replacement cost for another 100’ greenhouse will be $4,350 - we are deeply grateful for any amount you’re willing to give.
Small farms are some of the most vulnerable businesses to extreme weather events, and no insurance is currently available to small farms like ours to help cover these kind of losses. Our community of local & sustainable food supporters alone has kept us going these past five years, and we want to keep growing fresh, tasty veggies for you for the long haul - we will forever appreciate your help getting us through this.
All our thanks,
Andrew Williams & Alex Halferty
