Hi, my name is Kristian Niemimaa former PADI Diving instructor and resident of Moalboal, and I am creating this fundraiser in the name of all the people in Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines. The aftermath of the category 5, Super typhoon RAI that hit them December 16, 2021 was devastating. They are not expected to get electric power back for 1-3 months, some places have phone connections, or at least internet access so they can inform they families and friends if they are ok. For many days me and my wife (from Moalboal) could not reach anyone or get any news from Moalboal, we did not know if they were hurt or even alive, and the same for many families outside the affected area. That needs to change! I am creating this fundraiser to get some help funding relief goods, that means basic food stuffs like rice, canned food, hygiene articles and drinking water. Water refilling stations are not operational due to the power outage, so there is no access to clean water.
People here ar not rich and dont have insurances to keep them fed, the rely on friends and relatives to support them, simce many of them is now out of business and can't provide for them selves. 

I have setup some extended family members and colleagues from the diving industry to distribute these goods as fairly as possible. The goods will be bought in Cebu City to be transferred to Moalboal,

 

If we can raise enough and there is some left over, we might get some portable generators so the residents can charge their phones at least so they can keep in touch with family and friends abroad.

 

I can`t estimate how much is needed since there is so many people without roofs over their head and so many without access to simple things as ATM machines so they can get food. SO lets start small and go from there.
