Help people in Nepal with Covid - 19
Nepal is groaning under the second Covid - 19 wave. There is a lockdown in Kathmandu and the hospitals are overcrowded. In the public hospitals there is no budget for PPE, masks and sanitizers. People in health care are afraid to go to work. They know that if they fall ill, or their families fall ill, there is no bed or oxygen available for them.
Chuda is on the ground in Kathmandu and wants to help. Last week he lost a 45-year-old friend and his uncle, both contracted Covid - 19 and could not find a bed or oxygen. He gets daily calls from family, friends and acquaintances asking for help. It is heartbreaking to hear that there is no place in the hospitals, or that there is no oxygen left.
With the money collected from this fundraiser, we want to help buy protective equipment for some public hospitals: PPE, masks and sanitizer. This way, the healthcare staff can work more safely. Besides that, we will buy oxygen for those that urgently need it but can not afford it.
We are tired of simply watching how the people around us cannot receive the basic care they need and the healthcare staff fears for their own live due to a lack of protective equipment.
