Help People Help Kieran Beat Cancer
Hi everyone, my brother Kieran Healy is one of the funniest, smartest, down to earth people I know. He is an amazing brother, husband, and father (to Emily and 18 month old Brandon).
A few weeks ago Kieran was diagnosed with cancer. He has stage IV Diffuse large B-cell non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. It was certainly the worst type of news but he took it, buckled down and started treatment.Now he’s attacking the cancer.
Kieran was hospitalized for quite a few days over the last two weeks. He is finally home, but what it made Kieran and Emily realize is the cost of this treatment is going to go beyond just the medical cost.
When Emily and Kieran sat down to look at incidental money other people were potentially going to spend while helping them, it was shocking. Hotels, cab rides, gas money (people coming from hundreds of miles away!), meals… it adds up. These folks are helping, and it seems they shouldn’t be further putting up their own money on top of it. Additionally, there are little expenses that add up for Emily and Kieran. He has a specialized diet that requires lots of little foods and nutrition supplements never needed before. Pedialyte every day! Laundering services, grocery delivery,tons of masks, a specific mouth rinse every 2 hours… None of which will be covered by insurance.
By raising this money I am hoping it will help take the financial burden off of Kieran and Emily and those helping them out day to day while they kicks cancers ass.
