Help people affected by the Baños landslides

My name is Julie and I live in Baños, Ecuador, where there have been huge landslides on Sunday the 16th, last week. Being in the disaster area, I feel called to help the people in any way I can. The organization here is far from perfect, there is a lot of corruption, so government aid doesn’t reach all the affected families. Currently about 1000 people are homeless and many of them have lost family members in the landslides. Rescue teams and military helicopters were looking for missing people in the mud for almost the entire week and every day bodies were brought into town. This has been a heartbreaking event to witness.

Medicine, food and personal care products are scarce and many people do not have clean underwear, a toothbrush, let alone clean drinking water. With some first donations, I personally went to the supermarket and left the donations at the improvised shelters for the homeless families. I want to ask you to please share this message with as many as you can, to help me help out the survivors of the landslides in my town.

Donations will be used for essential goods that the shelters need at this very moment, like clothes, soap, toothbrushes, tooth paste, shampoo, toilet paper, drinking water, et cetera. For every donation I will take a picture of the purchased goods donated and the receipt, so you know where the donation went!
