Help Penzell Family After Father's Sudden Passing

Hello, my name is Lisa Brown and I had the pleasure of working with Marguerite for a little over a year in Charlottesville. She is one of the most caring, kindhearted people I know and would do anything for anyone. Unfortunately, bad things have a way of happening to wonderful people, so I am setting this gofundme up to help her family get through this devastating life change.

The day after Christmas, I received a call from Marguerite saying her father was found unconscious and wasn't going to make it. Marguerite's mother was out of the country at the time, so she and her brother Milo (a full-time nursing student at UVA) were at the hospital saying goodbye and dealing with all the hard end-of-life questions that no one their age should have to deal with. After he was laid to rest, they realized all the house expenses, insurance premiums and other bills he normally paid were now entirely up to them. For unknown reasons, his death certificate has not been released and without this being established, they have no access to any benefits or funds he may have left behind. With the family living paycheck to paycheck WITHOUT the house and insurance costs, they will have to put all household bills on credit cards to make ends meet. Marguerite has already been stretched financially thin this year from unexpected car repairs and emergency surgery to save her dog, Winston's life.

On top of it ALL, their roof has started leaking and they learned their father's homeowner's policy was terminated before his passing. Anyone who has experienced roof damage knows the cost of replacing one and with this one already leaking, there is likely mold that needs remediating as well to avoid health hazards.

The sudden death of a family member is tragic enough without being left with the burden of not knowing how you're going to make ends meet.
