Hi everyone! This is Penny, a 4-month-old bully mix. She was brought into the emergency hospital at the end of March very sick, and her owners were ready to euthanize her. Homeward Bound Dog Rescue of NY graciously took her in, paid for her hospitalization, and saved her from euthanasia. She was hypernatremic (high sodium levels) and spent multiple days in the hospital. The past couple of weeks, she's been enjoying all the love and attention with her foster family and learning how to be a playful puppy.

The past couple of days, she's been very lethargic and not playful. She was brought into the vet, and bloodwork was done. Unfortunately, her sodium levels are very high again. We are raising money for her hospital bill and we are going to try to get her an appointment with internal medicine in hopes they can give us more answers and help treat her. She might also need biopsies of her kidneys to see if that would give us more answers as to why she keeps becoming hypernatremic. Anything that you can donate would really help. She is just a baby and deserves a chance to live a happy, long life.
