Penny is my rescue dog, and her journey has been nothing short of remarkable. She was rescued from San Bernardino during the LA fires, and I was expecting a two-year-old male husky. Instead, at 11 pm, Penny arrived in very poor condition, and from that moment, I knew she needed me. She had been kept by a bad rescue for months before I got her, arriving emaciated with severe skin lesions that looked like burn scars. At just 42 lbs and very sick, I took her straight to the vet and started her on antibiotics and a special diet.
With time, love, and care, Penny improved dramatically and now weighs 75 lbs. However, her journey hasn’t been easy. After having a few lesions and some badly broken teeth removed, Penny was diagnosed with skin cancer. She is currently on Zenrelia for her skin lesions, which are bleeding again and starting to become infected. Now, she needs urgent surgical removal of her nipple to prevent her from suffering a long, miserable, slow death.
Her surgery and ongoing care will give her the chance to enjoy her forever home. Penny is only six years old, and with your support, she can live out her natural life surrounded by love, good health, and quality food. Penny has been through a horrible past life that, with your help, will be transformed into a life filled with hope. If not for the kindness of people like you, I can't save her after all the hard work to get her here. Please consider helping Penny on her journey to a brighter future.
