Help Penny Fight Sarcoidosis & Financial Hardship
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
My name is Penny, and I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help. Life has brought unexpected challenges, and I’m reaching out with the hope that you’ll take a moment to hear my story and consider supporting me during this difficult time.
In 2018, I lost my beloved twin sister to complications from sarcoidosis, a serious inflammatory disease. It was a heartbreaking loss that shook our family to the core. Not long after her passing, I began experiencing severe health issues of my own—beginning with complications following my COVID vaccinations that same year. In October 2024, I underwent emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder, and I have been unable to return to work since.
In early 2024, I received the diagnosis I had long feared: I too have sarcoidosis. This disease has made daily life a struggle, with chronic pain, fatigue, and inflammation making even basic tasks difficult. Despite having a long-term disability insurance policy, my claim was denied on the grounds of “pre-existing conditions”—an argument based on medications I had been prescribed that can be used for sarcoidosis, even though they were originally prescribed for unrelated symptoms.
I am currently awaiting a decision on my Social Security Disability claim, but that process is slow, and the financial strain has become overwhelming. I am doing my best to remain hopeful, but I can’t do this alone anymore.
I’m humbly asking for your help—whether through a financial donation, sharing my story, or offering words of encouragement. Any support you can give will help me cover essential expenses like housing, food, medications, and transportation to medical appointments.
I know times are hard for everyone, and I wouldn’t ask if it weren’t truly necessary. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for being a light in this dark time.
