Help Penny continue to fight and improve her quality of life

Hi everyone,

We are reaching out to support our incredible friend Penny Dorgan. Penny is a lifelong advocate and carer who has faced unimaginable health challenges with strength and resilience. In 2009, at just 36 years old, she suffered a stroke and was diagnosed with Catastrophic Anti-phospholipid Syndrome (CAPS)—a rare autoimmune disease that causes dangerous blood clots and multi-organ failure.

Since her diagnosis, Penny has been confined to a wheelchair and dependent on oxygen 24/7. She also lives with bilateral ulnar nerve neuropathy, which severely limits the use of her arms and hands. In 2014, her situation became even more difficult when she was hit by a 4WD that veered onto the footpath while in her electric wheelchair.

Despite all of this, Penny continues to move forward. With the support of her loyal assistance dog, Red, and a deep commitment to helping others, she’s spent over 27 years working in the disability sector, always putting the care of others before her own.

Now it’s our turn to support her.

Why We’re Fundraising: For an Infrared Sauna to be installed in Penny’s home.

We’re raising funds to purchase an infrared sauna for Penny, an amazing wellness tool that could make a life-changing difference in her daily comfort and long-term health.
