Hi, my name is Penny Carson Burnet. I’m reaching out to ask for help with any support or gift you may be able to offer.
I am disabled and rely solely on my monthly disability income. In the past, my father helped me when I struggled, but he recently suffered a stroke and is no longer able to assist. Since the economy has changed so much, I’ve found it increasingly difficult to afford basic needs like food and medical care.
I’ve had six back surgeries, and I’m now undergoing additional injections due to two more bulging discs pressing on my spinal cord. Recently, changes to my Medicaid coverage have significantly increased my expenses. I now pay about $300 per month for insurance premiums and medical costs, along with $155 per month for medications. I also lost $125 per month in food assistance.
With a monthly income of $1,700, I’m trying to cover my mortgage, utilities, and all other living expenses, but it’s no longer enough. I’ve reached out to every resource I can find, and unfortunately, I haven’t been able to secure additional help.
I’ve lived independently for 25 years and have always managed to get by, but I’m at a point where I truly need support. My faith is very important to me, and I believe God can move mountains—but right now, I’m facing a very large one.
If you feel led to help in any way, I would be deeply grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
